Vallromanes house is a 200 m2 single family residence with 4 bedrooms.
The proposed design groups all the service and circulation elements of the house in a central spine placed on a longitudinal strip in the middle of the lot. This “working wall” divides the lot into two zones, one more social and accessible and another one more intimate and private. At the same time, the central spine generates a connection between the front and rear streets making the house and the site to come together in one unitary intervention.
The different living spaces are then attached to both sides of the wall adjusting to the topography of the site. These glass boxes can be open completely in one of their sides through bi-fold doors, turning the rooms into terraces that merge with the exterior. The Eastern side boxes open on their longitudinal façade towards the garden, whilst the Western side boxes open on their short side to the views of the surrounding forest
